Driving Change: Shropshire Creative at the IAAF’s First Gender Balance Council Meeting
At Shropshire Creative Agency, we believe that good design isn’t just about aesthetics - it’s about impact. That’s why we were honoured to attend the very first Gender Balance Council meeting hosted by the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) this month.
Held as a bold step toward promoting gender equality in the automotive industry, the meeting brought together professionals from all corners of the aftermarket sector. It was an inspiring, open, and forward-thinking discussion around how the industry can do better - not only internally, but in how it presents itself to the world.
Why We Were There
As we are a creative agency and also have our Garage Talk brand, we know that the way a brand looks, sounds, and markets itself has a powerful impact on who feels welcome in that space. From posters and websites to video content and social media campaigns, the stories we help tell can either reinforce stereotypes - or break them down.
We attended to listen, learn, and contribute as part of the wider ecosystem supporting the industry’s image and communications. Our role isn’t just to deliver creative assets - it’s to help our clients build inclusive brands that reflect the diversity of their teams and customers.
Going Forward
We’d like to thank the IAAF for hosting such an important conversation and for inviting creative partners like us into the fold. We look forward to supporting the next phase of this initiative - and to helping the automotive industry move forward with purpose, clarity, and inclusivity at its core.
